If you are a visitor who has never worn Western boots, the heel height is misleading. The boot is shaped with an exterior heel that will aid in controlling how far in the stirrup a foot will slide. It is large at the base and comes under your foot considerably more than many fashion boots. This gives stability and structure, so your legs and back are more properly supported, whether on the ground standing, walking, or riding that horse.
