Southwestern Saddle blankets are more than a certain look. They are an art form that requires much skill in weaving. Each Navajo saddle blanket is hand loomed by a craftsman with lots of experience. Experience in knotting, eyeing how best to transition between colors, keeping consistently taunt weft and warp, and how to make it all come together so that edges do not roll up or unravel are why Mayatex blankets are prized above all others.

Although Mayatex makes both wool and acrylic saddleblankets, we mostly prefer this 100 % New Zealand Wool, shown below. I love color blends and Indian blanket patterns. We hope you do too!
